Holquist has written some wonderfully rich characters that leap out of the pages and really bring this story to life. From Maya to smart matchmaking daughter, to Granny Trudy the ex-con bar owner and rent-a-granny, to down on her luck gypsy sister Amy. Not to mention some really great Finn Concords that Cecelia meets throughout the book, who would have thought so many would have that name?
