Reviewer Comments: Full of dry wit, The Girl She Left Behind takes you to the small Montana town of Silver Creek. Katherine Earle had fled the small community at the tender age of eighteen when she was fell in love with the man who would take her away and make her his wife. But after three years on the road and all the struggles life can through at one person, Katherine finds herself sneaking back into the small town to reflect on the life she left behind. Despite her attempts to remain anonymous, her great-aunt Eva, the woman who raised her when her parents were killed, is determined to draw her back into the only family she has ever really known.

As Kat tries to reconcile her past with her future, her great-aunt up and dies on her leaving her everything including the house she grew up in. Determined to make it on her own, Kat discovers she cannot run away from the person she was but must use the past to decide the woman she will become. When her estranged husband shows up on her doorstep, Kat must decide where she wants to go on this rocky road called life and whether she is willing to embrace the man she has discovered she is still in love with.

An interesting story that casts the reader into the tangles and relationships of small town life. As Kat struggles to deal with her past, she develops some wonderful friendships with strong women in the community. This tale is not steamy romance but a wonderful story of a woman who struggles through a self-discovery process and accepts the love she embraced as a girl.
